Students from six local schools will participate in the IV Solidarity Intercenter Badminton Meeting

The competition will raise funds that will go towards the special therapies that little Jadow needs. It will be held on Tuesday, November 5, from 09.00 to 14.00 hours, at the Polideportivo El Carmen.

The councilman attached to the delegation of Sport, Luis Gil, and the representative of the participating schools, Julio Dominguez, have reported today on the IV Meeting of Badminton Intercentros Solidarity, which will take place next Tuesday, November 5, from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, in the sports hall El Carmen.

It is expected to involve about 150 young people in 3rd and 4th of ESO of the IES Mar de Alborán, Mediterranean, Puerta del Mar, Monterroso and Professor Hormigo, as well as secondary students of the College Juan XXIII.

Both Luis Gil and Julio Dominguez explained that this is one of the many sports activities that are carried out with the intention of promoting minority sports, facilitate sporting and equal participation between genders, and promote the inclusion of people with different abilities.

In addition, they have highlighted the charitable nature of this event that this year aims to raise funds that will be used to defray the therapies needed by the little Jadow, a primary school student of the Simon Fernandez School. In this sense they recalled that the first edition of this meeting was dedicated to the Maternal and Child Hospital of Malaga-Ronald McDonald House and the Andrés Olivares Foundation; the second was for the Parkinson SOL Association of Estepona; and last year raised funds for the Association of People with Disabilities ASDIES.

The participating high schools have been responsible for selecting and preparing the pairs that will represent them, while the Badminton Club will be responsible for the competitive system and the adaptation of the rules of the game.

The IV Intercentros Solidarity Badminton Meeting is organized by the City Council of Estepona, together with the associations Alejandro Navarro Deportista and UBUNTU Estepona, and the Estepona Badminton Club. It also has the collaboration of the participating schools and CEIP Valeriano Lopez.
