The City Council offers English teaching and psychological support to the students of the Municipal Nursery Schools.
The mayor of Estepona has held a meeting with the staff that will attend to the 278 students that will be enrolled during the school year that has just begun.
The Estepona City Council reports that the school year has begun in the five municipal nursery schools. The mayor, José María García Urbano, who has visited one of the facilities to meet with the staff who will attend the students, explained that these schools will again this year provide English language teaching, as well as free psychological support to children who need it.
As for the English language training, the objective is that the youngest children begin to familiarize themselves with a second language in a natural way through activities and games, taking advantage of the ease of acquiring knowledge in other languages at an early age. Another of the outstanding services that the centers offer to families is a free psychology office dedicated exclusively to the age group of the students, between 16 weeks and 3 years old.
The councilor attached to the area of Education, Maria Aguilar, stressed that of the total of 278 places offered, at present, 90 percent are already covered, although the forecast is to complete the quota during the first quarter in the five municipal nursery schools with which the City Council has: El Mar, Los Pitufos, El Nido, Calancha and Cancelada, in the suburbs.
Also, throughout the course, will take place the activity School of families, which may attend both parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and other people who have a close relationship with children in nursery schools.
In these sessions, which will be held in morning and afternoon shifts, will address issues related to education and the evolutionary development of children, such as adaptation to school, setting limits, habits in food and sleep and diaper removal.
The municipal responsible for Education has highlighted the effort that has been carried out for the preparation of the centers for the beginning of the school year. In addition to carrying out maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmithing and painting work in all the centers, new educational material has been supplied.
