Baritone David Geary presents at the Plaza del Reloj the concert ‘Música de Cine’ with pianist Bojan Turkic and guitarist Tomás Navas.

The show will take place next Saturday, July 13, at 9:00 p.m., with free access.

he Estepona Town Hall informs that the American musician and baritone David Geary will present the show ‘Film Music’ next Saturday, July 13, at 21.00 pm, in the Plaza del Reloj.

The event is organized by the Cultural and Film Association of the Costa del Sol ‘Unicorn’, under the collaboration agreement with the City of Estepona, and has the support of the Foundation Garcia Fajer.

During the concert, with free access, the baritone will perform some of the themes of famous film productions such as ‘The Godfather’, ‘The Pink Panther’, or ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’. He will be accompanied by musicians Bojan Turkic (piano) and Tomás Navas (guitar).

David Geary, (Toronto, 1942). Determined to become a singer since he was seven years old, in his youth he combined university with his work at the Toronto Opera School and the Stratford Festival, as well as doing television in Toronto and Montreal. At the age of 22 he moved to Munich to study singing, and then to Switzerland, where he remained until 1991 as a singer, pianist, assistant conductor and singing teacher in the city of Saint Gall, in addition to directing a male choir.

Since 2015 he resides in Estepona, where he has founded the lyric company ‘La Operita de Estepona’, with which he has premiered several productions, in addition to collaborations with local artists and groups, contributing to enrich the musical culture of the city.

Bojan Turkic. Born in Serbia in 1980, he began his career as a musician at the age of 10. He graduated from the Faculty of Musical Arts in Belgrade as a jazz pianist. Throughout his career he participates in numerous performances alongside the most important musicians in the field of jazz in his country. He writes arrangements for big bands and symphonic orchestras. He currently works as a music teacher at the San José School and at the British Grammar School in Estepona, as well as being a member of several jazz groups on the Costa del Sol.

Tomás Navas. Musician guitarist born in Malaga. He studied classical guitar at the Conservatory of Lyon, France. Based in Estepona, he has participated in numerous events throughout his career. An eclectic musician, he has recorded three vinyl records and a CD with Los Loyas, Los Chacas and Yatiri, of South American music, in Paris (Barckay records). He has also given numerous concerts in France, Germany, England and the USA, and has participated in festivals.

He has collaborated for theater musicians, and arrangements for artists in France (Rafael Fays). His styles are: Classical and flamenco guitar, South American music, Bossa-Nova and Latin-Ja33.
