Estepona expands its Sculpture Route with a work by Juanjo San Pedro in the surroundings of the El Carmen viewpoint
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, and the artist Juanjo San Pedro have presented today the new work that adds to the Sculpture Route of the city. The piece, called ‘The Traveler’, is located on Avenida España, opposite the Mirador del Carmen.
Made of bronze, two meters high and weighing 300 kilos, the new sculpture by Juanjo San Pedro shows a traveler who carefully observes the cultural equipment that rises before his eyes.
The alderman has indicated that this magnificent work expands the sculptural heritage of the city and has commented that it will be very photographed for its artistic quality.
This sculpture is the second one made for the city by this Basque artist. On the occasion of the inauguration of the current City Hall, San Pedro created the sculpture ‘Homage’, which pays tribute to the elderly with a bronze composition of two elderly people chatting animatedly on a bench in a public square.
