Estepona City Council reports that the poet, storyteller, writer and novelist Juan Emilio Rios will present next Friday, November 29, at 18.00 hours, the book-catalogue ‘Ireneo Ruiz, a painter of the Campo de Gibraltar’. The event will take place in the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas,
The work ‘Ireneo Ruiz, a painter of the Campo de Gibraltar’ is intended to serve as a “showcase” on part of the artistic career of the neorealist painter, with texts, reviews and poems (also translated into English) by Juan Emilio Rios. Together they have collaborated on many occasions, either with illustrations for the covers of several magazines, such as YARABÍ and GUADALMESÍ, accompanying the writer’s poems with the painter’s sketches and drawings, or with articles in the press and presentations at several of the artist’s inaugurations, by Juan Emilio Ríos.
The mutual admiration for their creative work has resulted in this eighty-page book-catalog, in which in addition to the photographs by Soco Luis and the translations by Jenny Langston, which complement the authorship of the same, offers the description and development of three different projects, including ‘La PAZjarita’, which proposes the reflection and idealization of a lasting peace in the face of the harsh war.
