The Estepona City Council informs that next Thursday, July 13, at 19:00 hours, will take place in the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, the presentation of the book “Cancer, learning to LIVE”, by Raquel Marugán; a story of overcoming that anchors the present moment and puts priorities and values in order.
In this her first book, the author narrates her own personal experience, after being diagnosed with throat cancer, and invites the reader to walk with her with a positive attitude towards the disease.
This unexpected turn of events represents a turning point in her life. A way of living that trapped her forever. A chronicle that began in the land of uncertainty, and ends in the world of hope. An exciting journey in which cancer led her to cross the border between the ordinary and the extraordinary. To gamble all or nothing to achieve happiness.
Pain does not always bring more suffering, sometimes it also gives a new life. And the great reward was the adventure she lived to survive.
Death brought her closer to life. “What makes us unique is what we do with what happens to us. I had to learn to manage scarcity, but only by transcending my own barriers could I influence my environment. It was the least I could pay for the toll, the gratitude and the moral obligation to give back what life gave me.
Proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, AECC.
