The City Council and CD Estepona sign an agreement to bring the local team closer to the municipality’s senior citizens.

The Municipal Geriatric Cabinet will provide tickets to participants through the Active Aging Program. The initiative promotes socialization, physical activity and emotional well-being.
The Estepona City Council and CD Estepona strengthen ties to bring the local soccer team’s sports practice closer to the municipality’s seniors. The Consistory has signed a collaboration agreement with the club through which seniors who participate in the Active Aging program of the Municipal Geriatric Office will receive free tickets to attend home games played by the team.
The mayor, José María García Urbano, and members of the board of CD Estepona have highlighted during the signing of the agreement that the objective is to “promote activities that promote socialization, physical activity and emotional well-being of the elderly of the municipality.” “We also consider that soccer, as a sport with deep roots in our community, is an excellent opportunity for this”.
Under this agreement, CD Estepona will grant a quota of free tickets for seniors in the Active Aging Program, which will be distributed from the Geriatric Office ensuring equal access for beneficiaries. In addition, there is the possibility of including other activities, such as guided tours of the stadium or meetings with players, to reinforce the experience for the seniors.
This initiative will not only allow the beneficiaries to enjoy soccer and be part of the local fans, but will also reinforce the club’s social commitment to the community. In this sense, it promotes inclusion and active aging, improving mood, reducing isolation and encouraging participation in recreational activities.
This measure also enables intergenerational interaction in a sporting environment, promoting values of coexistence and respect.
