The City Council announces the IV ‘BookFace’ Contest that rewards the art of melting with the cover of a book

The deadline for submission of photographs will be open from April 1 to 20.
The City Council of Estepona reports that the municipal delegation of Culture has opened the deadline to participate in the ‘IV Contest ‘Bookface’, with the aim of promoting creativity and the habit of reading by combining photography and literature. The contest consists of creating an image trying to align the cover of a book with the face or body of a person, generating a creative and original visual composition.
In this call may participate any person registered in Estepona, without age limit. Each contestant may compete with a maximum of two unpublished photographs that have not been awarded in other contests. The file must be in JPG or PNG format, with a minimum resolution of 1,920 X 1,080 pixels, and must be sent by e-mail to the address admbiblioteca@estepona.es indicating name and surname of the participant, age and contact details, plus an authorization from legal guardians in the case of minors.
The deadline for submission of photographs will remain open from 1 to 20 April 2025. Photographs that may violate the right to honor, personal and family privacy, or that are disrespectful to religious beliefs and sexual condition of people will not be admitted to the contest.
The jury will select the three best photographs based on criteria such as creativity, technique and originality, which will be awarded with 150, 100 and 50 euros, respectively. The awards will be presented to the winners on Wednesday, April 23, International Book Day.
A selection of the participating photographs will be temporarily exhibited at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center.
