The City Council calls on the Government to urgently repair the highway overpass in Parque Antena, which has been closed for months

The Consistory urges the Ministry of Transport to carry out the necessary repairs as soon as possible, in view of the problems that the closure is causing in the travel of the neighbors in the area.
The Estepona City Council will approve in the plenary session of this March a motion urging the central government to undertake, as soon as possible, the necessary repairs to reopen as soon as possible the flyover that crosses the A-7 highway in the area of Parque Antena.
The Consistory has received complaints from residents who have been unable to cross the highway for almost four months at this point, which also connects to a nearby bus stop, forcing them to spend more time on their journeys on foot, having to go to another previous crossing, which is causing problems, especially for the elderly.
The crossing has been closed for a few months, so the Estepona Town Hall is asking the Ministry of Transport to explain the state of the structure of this flyover, as well as the plans for its repair and reopening.
On the other hand, and also in terms of mobility, the Consistory is once again asking the central government to open a new access to the city from the A-7 highway. Last November the mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, held a meeting in Madrid with officials of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to address this request. Specifically, the possibility of opening a new entrance and exit through the area of La Lobilla or the Cuesta de Ronda was raised. So far, the City Council has not received a response after the commitment, by representatives of the central government, to study the proposal.
