The City Council collaborates with the CUDECA Foundation in the organization of a theatrical show in Russian for the benefit of its palliative care program.

The play ‘Papa’ will be performed next Friday, April 11 at the Felipe VI Auditorium under the direction of Vladimir Beldiayan.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that next Friday, April 11, at 7.30 p.m., the play ‘Dad’ will be presented at the Felipe VI Auditorium, a show of solidarity for the benefit of the CUDECA Foundation to financially support its palliative care program. The performance will be in Russian.
‘Dad’ (Dad) is a tragicomedy based on the play ‘The Father’ by the well-known French playwright Florian Zeller. A realistic story about family that keeps the spectators in tension from the very beginning. It is directed by Vladimir Beldiayan and has scenography by Alexander Lisyansky. The main characters, Sergey Makovetskiy and Maria Ryshchenkova, tell the story of a father and daughter who try to understand the changes that occur in a person who quickly begins to lose control over his mind.

Florian Zeller is a writer and playwright. Plays based on his texts are performed in theaters all over the world. In 2014 he was awarded the Molière Prize, France’s highest theatrical recognition, for his play ‘Papa’. Performances of this play have been a great success in Paris, London, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong and hundreds of other cities.
The CUDECA Foundation is a non-profit organization that works according to its idea of dignity at the end of life, offering professional medical care to people with cancer and other advanced diseases, as well as support to their families. It has a great experience and competence in the field of palliative care, from which it offers its special way of caring, not only treating the physical illness, but also the psychological, social and spiritual aspects. Completely free of charge, it offers home care,
day and rehabilitation center, hospitalization unit, psychosocial program, counseling and outpatient consultation.
Its activity began in 1992 thanks to the work and dedication of Joan Hunt, born in England and resident of the Costa del Sol. After the death of her husband from cancer, Hunt decided to dedicate her life to helping others in the same situation, and to this end founded CUDECA, which since its creation has attended more than 19,000 patients through its multidisciplinary programs. In 2024, the foundation cared for more than 1,900 people and offered support to almost 2,400 family members.
