The City Council concludes the works on the turf and lighting of the Muñoz Pérez Football Stadium, which is ready for the celebration of the next Copa del Rey match.
The new pitch is Fifa Quality Pro certified, the highest category on the market.
The Estepona City Council informs that the works for the replacement of the turf of the Muñoz Pérez Football Stadium, as well as the installation of new lighting have been completed, so the sports complex is ready to host the next match of CD Estepona corresponding to the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup). The Estepona club will face CD Leganés next week.
Located in the extension of the Avenida Juan Carlos I, the sports complex has a total area of 20,200 square meters and within it is the soccer field, which has dimensions of 109×75 meters, approximately.
The action developed has allowed the installation of new lighting, as well as the replacement of the turf. The work on the playing field, with a final budget of 185,275 euros, has also included the repair of the irrigation system, as well as the removal and subsequent installation of the existing sports equipment.
The work carried out consisted of the removal of all the sports equipment and grids of perimeter drainage channels, screening and cleaning of the surface elastic load of the field, dismantling and removal of the artificial turf previously installed and the repair of 300 square meters of the elastic base. Finally, the new artificial turf has been laid with Fifa Quality Pro certification, the highest category on the market, and equipment and gutters have been replaced.
All the dimensions of the 11-a-side and 7-a-side soccer fields at the Muñoz Pérez are in accordance with the NIDE Standards of the Higher Sports Council and the standards of the Royal Spanish Federation.
The conditions presented by the sports ground, where the club has already returned to play league matches, are ideal to play the next round of the Copa del Rey, as has been shown in the contacts maintained by the City Council and the Club.
