Estepona City Council organizes a new edition of summer camps for children

The program includes free proposals focused on creativity and emotional wellbeing, in addition to Selwo Aventura camps with discounts for registered residents.

The Estepona City Council reports the launch of a new edition of summer camps for children in the municipality. For this year have been organized 3 camps that combine leisure, creativity, coexistence and education in values through different proposals tailored to different ages and interests.

The councilor attached to the area of Youth, Julia Simón, stressed that the aim of these initiatives is ‘to offer educational leisure alternatives during the summer, also promoting creativity, emotional well-being, contact with nature and coexistence among minors’.

Among the proposals offered this summer is the free camp ‘Breathe, connect and create’, organized by the Association Gantalcalá and aimed at children between 7 and 12 years. This initiative will run from June 29 to July 10 and will be divided into two shifts adapted by age: a first group for children aged 7 to 9 years and a second for participants aged 10 to 12 years.

The camp is committed to a model focused on emotional well-being, active citizenship and creativity, offering tools for resilience, self-esteem and self-knowledge. It will combine children’s yoga activities, mindfulness dynamics, social theater, free dance, artistic expression and creative recycling.

In addition, participants will be able to reflect on issues related to their daily environment through workshops and group dynamics to encourage participation and coexistence. The activities will take place from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 2 pm, extendable until 3 pm to facilitate family reconciliation. Registration for this workshop will be done by scanning a QR code on the poster of the activity, which will be published on the municipal website www.estepona.es.

Another activity program is the free camp ‘En la Parra’, aimed at children between 7 and 11 years old. This proposal will have two shifts: from July 20 to 24 and from July 27 to 21.

The camp offers an alternative away from hyper-productive days and proposes a space where children can play freely, interact, rest, experiment and develop their creativity at a different pace. Throughout the days they will work with different contemporary artistic disciplines such as photography, the creation of fanzines, artistic installation or corporal expression. This camp is organized by the educator and workshop leader Elisa Ogalla and the teacher and poet José Fernández.

The activities will take place from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. Registrations for ‘En la Parra’ will be made by email to ninoscansados@gmail.com before June 12.

The offer of summer camps is completed with the Selwo Aventura camps that will take place from June 22nd to August 10th. This proposal includes day and night modalities in five-day shifts for boys and girls between 6 and 12 years old. In the case of the night camp, children between 8 and 12 years old will be able to participate.

The activities will take place from 10 am to 5 pm and will allow participants to enjoy experiences related to nature, adventure and coexistence in a unique environment. The price of the day camp will be 179.10 euros and the night camp will cost 269.10 euros. Children registered in Estepona will have a 10 percent discount on the established price.
