The City Council highlights the success and economic impact of the Fair, which has brought together more than 400,000 visitors.

During the weekend, record numbers of visitors have been reached.

The free concerts of Cepeda, María Peláe, Bertín Osborne and Nyno Vargas at the Caseta Municipal attracted thousands of people.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural Area, Paula Herrera, today took stock of the Fair and Festivities 2023, which were held from 4 to 9 July. The municipal responsible has highlighted the success of the programming and development of this event, which has recorded more than 400,000 visits to the Fair Park during these holidays.

Herrera explained that during the past weekend, a record number of visits to the fairgrounds were reached, which shows that the Estepona Fair has become one of the most important in the province. It has also valued the economic impact that this celebration has meant for the city.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area has indicated that the various free concerts organized by the City Council in the Municipal Caseta brought together thousands of attendees. In this edition, artists of different musical styles such as Cepeda, María Peláe, Bertín Osborne or Nyno Vargas have been programmed to reach the maximum public.

Another of the events that aroused more interest was the Festival of the Elderly, which this year brought together a thousand people and featured the performance of singer Laura Gallego.

Paula Herrera has put in value the breadth of the Fair Park, the ease of access and versatility of the enclosure. Added to this is the ease and convenience provided by the parking of a thousand spaces next to the Fair Park and under the new Athletics Stadium, which has a symbolic cost for the user of one euro per day. To facilitate access, also enabled this year a temporary parking in the Puerta del Mar Avenue.

The start of the fair this year was in charge of Carlos Moreno ‘El Pulpo’, who gave an emotional opening speech in the renovated Avenida España. The communicator, linked to the city for more than four decades, reviewed his experiences in the city throughout a story full of emotions, feelings and memories.

On the other hand, the fans of the horse world enjoyed yesterday the VI Contest of Harnessed to the Andalusian. It took place in the Paseo de Caballos of the fairgrounds and was awarded to the best dressed horses and riders in each category: Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Couple, Amazon and Rider.

Also yesterday was held the traditional fair bullfight, which this year was attended by prominent bullfighting figures such as Roca Rey, Alejandro Talavante and David Galván.

It is also worth mentioning the magnificent preventive and on-site coordination of all the Security Forces and Bodies: Local Police, National Police, Civil Guard, as well as Firefighters and Civil Protection. Also noteworthy is the excellent work done by the operators of Cleaning, Operational Brigades and Lighting, as well as the staff of the municipal delegations of Culture and Festivals.
