The City Council will celebrate Carnival 2026 with the traditional costume contest, the Estepona Drag Queen Gala and the performance of different carnival groups.
The Carnival will be held on February 7 and 8, 2010.
The City Council of Estepona has organized a full program of activities for the celebration of Carnival 2026, which will take place on 7 and 8 February. The Councillor for Festivities, Macarena Diánez, has presented the activities that will take place in these two days, highlighting the “variety of events for all audiences”.
Saturday 7
– 12:00 pm. Performance of AGRUPACIONES CARNAVALESCAS in the Plaza Antonia Guerrero (In case of rain, the event would be moved to the Municipal House of the Fairgrounds).
– Chirigota ‘Menuda Noche’ of Estepona and San Pedro Alcantara. Director: Alberto Benitez. Lyrics and music: José Miguel Mata and Alberto Benitez.
– Comparsa ‘El desvelo de Marbella’. Direction: Antonio Quiñones. Lyrics: Guillermo Guerrero and Manuel Santander. Music: Manuel Santander and Antonio Quiñones.
– Chirigota ‘Los Mejores (de nuestra casa)’ of Estepona. Anthology. Direction: Alejandro Higuero. Lyrics and Music: José Alberto Ledesma.
– 19:00 hours. GALA DRAG QUEEN ESTEPONA at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos.
The prizes are as follows:
? First prize ‘Drag Queen Estepona 2026’: 1.500 €.
? Second prize ‘Drag Queen Estepona 2026’: 1.000 €.
? Third prize ‘Drag Queen Estepona 2026’: 750 € 750 €.
? Miss Congeniality ‘Drag Queen Estepona 2026’: 500 €.
? 6 runner-up prizes for the rest of the contestants: 200 €.

– THE GREAT NIGHT OF THE COSTUME. At the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses.
The Costume Contest does not require registration. Between 19:00 to 21:30 hours there will be ‘scouts’ for the selection of the best costumes of NINFA and MOMO.
– 22:00 hours. Costume Contest Awards Ceremony.
This year the prizes are as follows:
? Momo: 300 €.
? Ninfa: 300 €.
? Best costume: 10 prizes of 200 € each
? Best group: 3 prizes of 500 € each one.
– 22:30 h. The best of Spanish Pop with SÓTANO SUR in concert.
Sunday 8th
– From 12:00 to 16:00 hours. Great CHILDREN’S PARTY with entertainment groups and bouncy castles. Parade for the election of the best costumes of NINFA and MOMO, in the Caseta Municipal.
– 14:00 hours. Awards Ceremony of the Costume Contest.
This year the prizes are as follows:
? Child Momo: 150 €.
? Children’s nymph: 150 €.
? Best children’s costume: 10 prizes of 100 € each.
? Best children’s group: 3 prizes of 500 € each.
– 15:00 hours. PERFORMANCE of the CHIRIGOTA ‘Los Mejores (de nuestra casa)’ from Estepona. Anthology. Director: Alejandro Higuero. Lyrics and Music: José Alberto Ledesma.
– 16:00 hours. PASACALLES of Carnival and BURIAL OF THE SARDINE. At the Fairgrounds, where the sardine ‘Alice’ will be set on fire. The procession will leave from the Municipal House. The City Council of Estepona encourages everyone to participate in costume in the Carnival Parade.
