The Estepona City Council delivers 220,000 euros to social groups that develop their activities in the municipality.

In addition to this direct aid, the Consistory has unlimited social emergency funds to ensure that all citizens have their needs covered.

The City Council of Estepona has delivered today 220,000 euros in financial aid to associations that this year have developed various projects to serve the most vulnerable groups in the city.

The mayor, José María García Urbano, stressed that for the Consistory “remains a priority to support all entities that serve the residents who need it most, to collaborate so that they can continue to develop their care programs to these citizens”. The alderman has advanced that the municipal budget for 2025 provides that will be more than 200,000 euros aid to be distributed among social organizations that help the needy.

In this sense, García Urbano has indicated that the accounts for next year continue to have a strong social character and set as one of its main objectives the attention of the most vulnerable people.

To do this, the economic amounts linked to aid and social programs will continue to be ‘expandable items’ in case social circumstances so require.

The social entities that have received today the municipal aid for 2024 have been: Association of Disabled of Estepona (ASDIES), Red Cross, Parkinson Sol, Volunteer Platform, Association of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Frente Bolillón, Multiple Sclerosis Association, Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s patients, Diocesan Caritas, Association of Mentally Handicapped of Estepona (APRONA), Women’s Association Peñas Blancas, Cudeca, Association of Victims of Autism, Motoclub ‘Onde Vamos’, Alejandro Navarro Association, as well as the various brotherhoods and fraternities of the municipality, and the Association of Brotherhoods and Guilds itself.

From the City Council has thanked them all for their efforts and the altruistic work they do throughout the year to improve the quality of life of the most needy neighbors.

In addition to these direct aids, the Consistory supports these entities in other matters, such as collaboration in the solidarity events they organize and in the free transfer of municipal facilities for holding charity events, in addition to tax support.
