The Estepona City Council programs more than a hundred activities in its Summer Cultural Agenda

The Summer Cinema in the gardens of the Botanical-Orchidarium Park, the free festivals ‘Espeto Fest’ and ‘Angel Festival. World Music’, the I Manga Festival of the Costa del Sol or the performances of Niña Pastori and Comandante Lara, are some of the events planned for the summer season.

The 8th World Ham Contest, with eight free concerts, the Fashion Week and the XXIV International Week of Fantastic Cinema of the Costa del Sol, are other activities that will be part of the summer Cultural Agenda.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area, Paula Herrera, and the councilor attached to the area of Festivals, Macarena Diánez, today presented the Summer Cultural Agenda that has organized the City of Estepona for the coming months and includes more than a hundred activities aimed at all audiences.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area, Paula Herrera, stressed that this year will be held again several free events that have been consolidated in recent years as the ‘Espeto Fest’, to be held from 27 to 29 July on the beach of La Rada, and that this time will include a Tribute to ABBA, a Tribute to Andalusian Rock and the XXI Reggae Night.

From August 18 to 20 will be held the free music festival ‘Angel Festival. World Music’, which this year will feature performances by artists from Cuba, Brazil and the United States in the Angel Park. As a novelty, this year from August 25 to 27 will be held the First Manga Festival of the Costa del Sol in the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses.

Another event that can not miss in the summer of Estepona is the Certamen Mundial de Jamón Popi ‘Ciudad de Estepona’, from 8 to 15 August on the Paseo Marítimo. This edition will offer a total of eight free concerts by artists such as Joana Jiménez, José ‘El Francés’, ‘Decai’ or ‘La Guardia’, among others.

Estepona’s bullring will also host several artistic events. Thus, on August 25 will host the ‘Camino’ tour of the singer Niña Pastori, on August 6 will be the turn of the family show ‘Karina & Marina, on August 4 there will be a ‘Gran Fiesta por Bulerías’ with artists like ‘Capullo de Jerez’ or Manuel Monje, on August 5 will host the concert of FernandoCosta, one of the protagonists of the new generation of Spanish hip hop and on August 3 will be the ‘Comandante Lara’ with his latest comedy show.

The councilor attached to the area of Fiestas, Macarena Diánez, stressed that the gardens of the Botanical Park Orchid will again become a Summer Cinema, from next July 12 to August 23. Every Wednesday, films for all audiences will be shown, such as ‘Minions. The origin of Gru’, ‘Sonic 2: The Movie’ or ‘A Samurai Hero: The Legend of Hank’. This year, as a

new this year, ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ will be screened on August 30 at the Plaza de la Juventud in Cancelada.

Fashion will also have its place in the summer agenda with the Estepona Fashion Week, to be held from September 20 to 23 at the Botanical Park-Orquidario. Organized by the Estepona Town Hall, Juanchy García Estudio and Miguel Toledo, the event includes the IV edition of the Young Designers Contest.

On the other hand, from September 3 to 9 will be held the XXIV International Week of Fantastic Cinema of the Costa del Sol, which this year will be dedicated to serial killers and will feature Laura Chaplin as the Festival’s Godmother.

On the other hand, on July 2 and 14 will be held in the Plaza del Reloj the Summer Concerts of the García Fajer Foundation. They will be free and will feature concert artists Kameliya Naydenova (violin), Giovanni Grano (guitar), Irina Yonkova (viola), Ian Judson (flute) and Alex Birchall (oboe).

Other events returning this summer will be the ’10 Wine Street-Estepona’, which will celebrate its seventh edition on July 14 in Plaza Manilva, or the XVIII Summer Book Fair, which will take place on the promenade from July 20 to September 10.

Also, every Sunday, from July 23 to August 27, will be held the traditional summer concerts of the Municipal Band of Estepona in the Plaza del Reloj. Recall also that the various academies and dance schools in the city will perform in various public spaces in the city throughout the summer.

Finally, note that the Felipe VI Auditorium will also host performances of interest such as the Cologne Chamber Philharmonic on July 13, the play ‘The Hands of Eurydice’ with Miguel Lopez on July 14, the show of mentalist Toni Bright on July 15, the musical ‘Enchantment’ on July 23 or ‘Harry Potter. The Magic Show’ on July 30, among others.
