The Estepona Municipal Band will open the summer concert season in Cancelada with a program of pasodobles and zarzuelas.

It will begin on Sunday, July 14, at 9:00 p.m., at the Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa.

The concerts will take place every Sunday in the Plaza del Reloj to conclude on August 25 in the Plaza del Ajedrez with the concert ‘El Baúl de los 70’, with the singer Serafín Zubiri.

The Estepona City Council reports that the new season of Summer Concerts of the Municipal Band of Estepona (BME) will start next Sunday, July 14, at 21.00 pm, in the Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa of Cancelada with a program of pasodobles and zarzuelas.

This is the fifteenth season of the BME under the direction and artistic direction of maestro José Antonio López Camacho. In the seven free performances included in this cycle, the Municipal Band of Estepona will perform more than fifty works including pasodobles, soundtracks of television series and films, great classical and musical works, zarzuelas or popular music.

The following performances will take place every Sunday in the central Plaza del Reloj, ending on August 25 in the Plaza del Ajedrez with the concert ‘El Baúl de los 70’, with the singer Serafín Zubiri.

As in each edition, each of the concerts will end with the interpretation of the Hymn of Estepona, with lyrics and music by the remembered maestro Manuel Navarro Mollor.

The origin of the Estepona Band dates back to 1940, performing uninterruptedly since then, making it one of the oldest band formations in the country. On its 75th anniversary, the City Council awarded it the Gold Medal of the City.

Program of the ‘Inaugural Concert’ of the Summer Season: Sunday, July 14, 21:00 hours, Plaza José Vázquez Espinosa, in the neighborhood of Cancelada.
