The Lost and Found Office of the Local Police manages to return 70% of the items found to their owners.

The items are kept in safekeeping for two years and, if within that period, the rightful owners do not claim them, the person who found them may claim them.
The Estepona City Council informs that the Municipal Lost and Found Office returns about 70% of the items found to their rightful owners.
This office is located in the premises of the Local Police and registers and safeguards the objects that citizens find on the public road. The procedure is very simple. When a citizen finds an object and takes it to the Local Police Headquarters, a record is opened in a special application for lost objects.
This record contains all the details of the find and the personal data of the person who found it, and then the object remains in custody for two years, the period established by law.
Once this period has elapsed, if the object has not been claimed, the person who found it can claim it as the rightful owner.
The office receives finds of all kinds, from cash, wallets, documentation, electric scooters, cell phones and a wide variety of other items. Once they are received, the office tries to locate the owners. In fact, from the Estepona office they have located owners outside our borders, even sending objects lost in Estepona to countries like England or France.
The person who has lost an object can go to the Lost and Found Office, located in the Local Police Headquarters, and check if the item is there. To claim it, you will need to identify yourself.
