Estepona hosts this Saturday the 10th test of the XXV Provincial Orienteering Circuit ‘Diputación de Málaga’.

The event will be held in the natural environment of Los Pedregales and will start at 09:30 am.

The City Council of Estepona informs that the San Isidro Labrador Municipal Park, in Los Pedregales, will host this Saturday, June 6, from 09:30 am, the tenth day of the XXV Provincial Orienteering Circuit “Diputación de Málaga 2026”, a program consisting of a series of orienteering tests in the natural environment, whose purpose is to promote this sport among children.

The Circuit program includes a total of 19 days. It began on February 1 in Istan, and will end on December 12 in Torre del Mar, and is organized by the Provincial Council of Malaga, with the collaboration of the municipalities in whose municipalities the tests are carried out, with the concurrence of the Andalusian Federation of Orientation (Malaga Delegation), and COMA, Orienteering Club of Malaga.

The Circuit has, among other objectives, to promote this sport and sports tourism in natural environments of the province, to promote this sport for all ages and levels, in a regulated and insured way, to promote sports activity with family reconciliation, to facilitate physical activity in family, to promote female participation, the integration in our sport of physical activity for people with functional diversity, and to facilitate popular participation (promotional categories) and sporting initiation to the sport of Orienteering in addition to the strictly competitive or federated.

The test Esteponera, with a maximum participation of 300 athletes, will be held in morning shift, and is aimed at children, mainly students from five years, local schools (Primary, Secondary and High School) that in the current course have participated in events of similar characteristics, to categories that accommodate runners 75 years. It will consist of a Trail-O (Precision Orienteering), the inclusive specialty of the sport of orienteering; a test in which the physical factor is not important, what prevails is the ability to read the map. It is carried out on accessible trails, allowing people with and without functional diversity to compete on equal opportunities.

To facilitate the transfer of local participants from the town center to the periurban park of Los Pedregales, the City Council will provide a bus service for interested participants, upon request on the registration form.
