Construction work on two new free paddle tennis courts on the outskirts of town has reached the halfway point

They are located in the Nueva Atalaya area and will join the existing facilities in this area, which include paddle tennis courts and a multipurpose sports court

The Estepona City Council reports that construction work on two new paddle tennis courts in the Cancelada neighborhood has reached the halfway point. This project is part of the city’s commitment to continue expanding the network of free outdoor sports facilities and to promote sports participation and healthy lifestyles among residents.

Regarding the progress of this work, both court surfaces have now been poured with concrete. Prior to this, two leveled areas were constructed on a properly compacted gravel subbase, and the rebar for the floor slab foundation was then installed. Ductwork has also been installed along the entire perimeter to house the lighting and irrigation systems.

In the coming days, once this work is complete, construction will proceed along the entire perimeter of the courts with the installation of the glass structure, in addition to landscaping work.

These new courts are located on a plot of approximately 400 square meters and will complement the existing sports facilities in the area, which include a padel court and a multipurpose court for indoor soccer, basketball, and other sports.

This project, with a budget of 124,503.57 euros (including VAT), will expand opportunities for sports participation, in this case, meeting the growing demand for padel facilities in Estepona, as well as revitalizing the area and promoting social integration through sports.

This initiative is part of the municipal strategy to provide outlying neighborhoods with modern and functional infrastructure. The City Council is committed to offering high-quality facilities throughout Estepona, ensuring free access to sports as a means of improving the health and well-being of the population.
