The City Council is making progress on the future boulevard project with the development of the parking garage roof

The infrastructure projects have been completed on the sections of España and Juan Carlos I avenues

The Estepona City Council reports that development work has begun on the roof of the public parking garage currently under construction on the city’s future boulevard. 

Located in the underground section of the boulevard, it will have more than 300 parking spaces and will be added to the municipal network of parking facilities that cost users 1 euro per day.

According to the project’s engineers, the parking garage’s foundation is 100 percent complete, while its structural work is now 95 percent complete.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the boulevard’s infrastructure work has already been completed in its southern section. The infrastructure work on the sections located on España and Juan Carlos I avenues is also practically finished, allowing for pedestrian traffic. Currently, workers are connecting Juan Carlos I Avenue with its perpendicular streets: San Roque and Melilla.

This summer also saw the completion of work on underground utility lines (electricity, telecommunications, drinking water, irrigation, and sewer).

The future boulevard will serve as the crowning achievement of the municipal project “Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol.” Once construction is complete, the area surrounding España, Juan Carlos I, and San Lorenzo avenues will be connected to the historic center and the boardwalk. The result will be a unique infrastructure open to the Mediterranean and designed so that pedestrians can enjoy a large public space featuring distinctive elements such as plazas, promenades, water features, and parks.

The City Council will thus provide the city with an urban space that is distinctive, accessible, modern, and respectful of its surroundings. The project also includes spaces designated for taxi stands, loading and unloading zones compatible with local businesses, parking areas for motorcycles and electric vehicles, and bicycle parking, reflecting a clear commitment to improving mobility.

With this project, the Estepona City Council continues to advance its vision of a friendly, green city open to the sea, consolidating an urban transformation that has made it a national model for the quality of its public spaces and its firm commitment to the well-being of its citizens.
