A new tennis academy is born in Estepona to train youngsters for top competition

ASP Performance is located in the facilities of the Estepona Tennis and Paddle Club and is focused on university players who want to compete at a professional level.

It also offers other programs for adults and children.

The councilman attached to the delegation of Sport, Luis Gil; the director of the ASP Performance Academy, Amarit Sanchez; and the president and sports director of the Tennis and Paddle Club Estepona, Fernando and Alberto Gil, respectively, have presented today the ASP Performance, a new tennis academy of high quality that has already begun its journey in our city and provides students with a professional and personalized training program.

The municipal responsible has thanked that Estepona has been chosen as the venue to develop this sports bet at the highest level, “which will undoubtedly offer young people a great opportunity to make the leap to professional tennis while continuing their university studies.” He also stated that this academy will have great projection and will achieve many successes.

The mayor has highlighted the professionalism of the technical team, led by Amarit Sanchez, who specializes in training players from grassroots to professional competition levels, including players who have finished top 10 juniors in the USA, top 5 in Europe and several of them ATP and WTA. Many others have won scholarships at prestigious universities such as Harvard, Cronell, Brown and Princeton, among many others.

For his part, the director of the ASP Performance Academy, Amarit Sanchez, explained that the training follows a methodical planning and high quality training with a personalized program for each student. To do this, an individual analysis of the player’s performance is carried out, “we create a structured technical, tactical, mental and physical plan that is implemented and monitored to ensure that players improve on a weekly basis”. He also announced that high-level players will be eligible for the college tennis program, which offers a scholarship to study and play in the United States.

Alberto and Fernando Gil have shown their satisfaction for the possibility that the facilities of the Estepona Tennis and Paddle Club host this academy of great international prestige “that provide us with a great opportunity and take a step further in the quality offer in which we are focused”. On the other hand, they have reported that in addition to the training of young people for competition, there are also programs for adults and a baby school for the little ones.
