Estepona celebrates this Sunday the XXVI Triathlon ‘Villa de Estepona’ with the participation of 200 athletes

The race, which is one of the oldest in Andalusia, is scoring for the XXIV Provincial Triathlon Circuit Diputación de Málaga.

Estepona City Council reports that around 200 athletes will participate this Sunday, June 16, in the XXVI Triathlon ‘Villa de Estepona’ 2024, which will start at 09.00 hours from the beach of La Rada.

The councilman attached to the delegation of Sport, Luis Miguel Gil Amores, said that this competition, which is one of the oldest in Andalusia, has become a classic of local sport and a must for professional and amateur athletes.

Also, the mayor thanked the organization and all the volunteers for the great work they do in each edition to coordinate the participants in each of the tests and make it possible for this activity has the great success of participation that harvest year after year.

For his part, the president of the Club Estepona Triathlon, Pablo Vazquez, has reported that this classic local sport, which is scoring for the XXIV Provincial Triathlon Circuit Diputación de Málaga, will be held in the form of Sprint. Thus, participants will have to swim a distance of 750 meters, a test that will take place on the beach of La Rada and will start from the Plaza Diario ABC. Then will be carried out an urban circuit of 20 kilometers by bicycle and, finally, athletes will perform a 5-kilometer foot race through the town of Estepona.

The XXVI Triathlon ‘Villa de Estepona’ is organized jointly by the Provincial Council of Malaga, the City of Estepona and Estepona Triathlon Sports Club, with the concurrence of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation (Malaga Delegation) as an entity entrusted service provider.
