Infrastructure: Work on coastal sections takes shape
Work on the coastal section connecting Arena Beach with Guadalobón is already 75 per cent complete. This was announced by the municipality recently. The work will involve the construction of a 535-metre-long and 3-metre-wide path that will connect the residential areas that were previously cut off from each other. In addition, once this stretch of coastline is completed, citizens will be able to walk the two kilometres from Costa Natura to Doncella beach without interruption.
The cost of the works is 702,830 euros (including VAT). They are financed through the Plan de Inversiones Mancomunados 2022, which was launched last year by the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental.
The coastal section in the east of the city, which runs from Villacana to Playa del Sol, is also 50 per cent complete, according to the city. In this one, a 398-metre-long and 3-metre-wide concrete path is being built. Landscaping works and the installation of street furniture are also taking place. The cost of the work amounts to 432,344 euros – financed from EU funds.
