The Estepona City Council informs that the singer Martirio will offer next September 6 at the Mirador del Carmen Exhibition Center the sung conference ‘La Mujer y la Copla’. The performance is part of the cultural cycle of concerts, lectures and free shows that has been developing on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Women in the Zuloaga Collection. Seven centuries of art’.

The importance of the copla in our sentimental education and its historical significance as a genre, as well as the involvement of women with these songs, is the theme chosen by the singer for her talk-colloquium illustrated with part of her repertoire.

Throughout an exposition of the theme, Martirio reviews and sings significant stanzas from the different sections of her repertoire. The following discussion with the audience is an important part of the event. It is a recital of music and lyrics, memory, analysis, and sense of humor to enjoy and learn from this great musical genre deeply and distinctly Spanish.

The performance will take place at 21.00 hours. Invitations will be available at the box office of the exhibition hall from next Tuesday.
