Music: Violinist Inés Maro Burgos Babakhanian wins competition
The 13-year-old violinist Inés Maro Burgos Babakhanian from Madrid has won the V Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes “Ciudad de Estepona”. The prize is sponsored by the town hall to promote the most talented instrumentalists in the country. Inés Maro Burgos Babakhanian was born in 2009 and began her studies at the age of four at a Suzuki Academy in Madrid. From 2018, she studied with Ana Baget at the “Adolfo Salazar” Conservatory, where she obtained the highest grades with distinction. In 2020, she made her debut at the Auditorio Nacional de España with the Orquesta Filarmonía conducted by Pascual Osa. In the same year, she was accepted at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. In July 2022, she won second prize at the IV International Competition “Ilona Feher” in Budapest.
In addition to a cash prize of 1,000 euros, Inés Maro Burgos Babakhanian also received the special prize “Andante con moto” from Radio Clásica and the special prize from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Málaga as the winner of the competition.
