The Estepona City Council informs that the singer-songwriter Emilio José will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his album ‘Soledad’ with a concert that will take place next Friday, August 4, at 22:00 hours, in the Plaza Manuel García Caparrós.
Born in Fernán Núñez, his musical beginnings are in Barcelona, where he moved to live with his family. There he recorded his first single ‘Barrio de los Marineros’. In 1973 he won the Benidorm festival with ‘Soledad’, the song that introduced him to society, which would become a classic.
Things didn’t stop there, ‘Soledad’ crossed the seas that Emilio carried so deep inside and, becoming his flagship, conquered hearts and continents, was recorded in many languages and sung by a multitude of singers and orchestras that even today continue to make versions of it.
Impregnated with poetry and romanticism, Emilio José has had an extensive musical production, with about twenty albums: ‘Campo herido’, ‘Soledad’, ‘Por un adiós’, ‘Porque poeta yo soy’, ‘Victoria’, ‘Poetas andaluces’, ‘Mi querida América’… At the end of 2019 he publishes ‘No te dejes contagiar del desamor’. In parallel, he performs concerts and tours around the world.
