The Casa de Las Tejerinas hosts a new exhibition of paintings by artist Mar Rivera.

The inauguration of the exhibition will take place next Thursday, August 3, at 7:00 p.m., and can be visited until August 16.

The City Council of Estepona informs that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Thursday, August 3, at 19:00 hours, a new exhibition of paintings by the multidisciplinary artist Mar Rivera.

The exhibition consists of 14 pictorial works and can be visited until August 16 from Tuesday to Friday, from 09:00 to 20:00 hours, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 hours, with free access.

Mar Rivera (1968) began her studies in the artistic branch of Sculpture at the School of Art of Seville in 2008, and for four years she developed Plastic Arts and Design in the modalities of Technician in Artistic Casting and Molding, in Artistic Carving in Wood and Stone, and in Artistic Forging. At the University of Seville she studied Fine Arts, where she perfected the area of Drawing and Painting.

He has had different stages of activity since then, being 2019 quite fruitful, with exhibitions in Rota, Conil de la Frontera and Estepona, the last one, “Preámbulo”, last summer.

She has also participated in group exhibitions in New York, with Van Der Plas Gallery, in Germany, at the Ruhr Art Fair (C.A.R.) and at Excellence Art Gallery and Magpie International in Marbella, with which she continues to collaborate.

Lately she is immersed in an obsession for horizons. She considers herself an interpreter of the landscape; when interpreting she maintains a game with spontaneity, without any programming, and from there the horizons emerge; the whole work is an unknown until its completion. Deep down, he likes to think that his work is to create from within, without the intervention of reason.

His only interest is to control spontaneity, to put in order all color, lines, to reach a balance in the execution of the work. In the end, “it is to create from within without the intervention of reason”, that is his current work.
