The City Council organizes several working groups with representatives from Brno during their institutional visit to Estepona.

Mayor José María García Urbano explained that the second city of the Czech Republic and Estepona have in common their interest in the creation of green areas and the revitalization of public spaces through culture and sports.

The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, today received public representatives of the City Council of Brno (Czech Republic) on the occasion of an institutional visit they have made to the city.

During the day today will be held several working groups in which responsible for the Consistory Estepona will present the initiatives that have been implemented in recent years on issues such as the creation of green spaces, the promotion of cycling or the management of nursery schools and water cycle. In addition, they will address other issues such as the commitment to culture and sport to revitalize cities.

The visit to Estepona will be completed with a guided tour of the Avenida España, one of the largest pedestrian areas of the municipality, by the works of the future boulevard, the old town and the Botanical Park-Orchidarium.

During the reception, the alderman noted that Brno, as the second city of the Czech Republic, is a reference for Estepona because both territories share the concern and sensitivity for the preservation of the environment. He also recalled that Brno stands out for its historical commitment to knowledge, which has led it to implement more than thirty faculties that host nearly 90,000 university students each year.

The mayor said that during the day will continue working on initiatives that strengthen ties between the two cities, so it is also planned an institutional visit to Brno by the authorities of the City of Estepona.

On the other hand, the first deputy mayor of Brno, René Cerný, thanked the reception by the City Council of Estepona and noted that Spain and the Czech Republic share a historical past and recalled that both nations have always had great relations.
