Estepona City Council celebrates the final of the VII Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes ‘Ciudad de Estepona’ for children under 13 years old.

The national competition will be held on May 24 (semifinals at Colegio San José) and the final on May 25 at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. Young instrumentalists of piano, strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass), wind, harp and guitar will participate.
The Estepona City Council informs that the seventh edition of the National Competition for Young Performers “Ciudad de Estepona” will be held on May 24 (semifinals at Colegio San José, at 10:00 am) and May 25 (final at the Audition Hall of the Conservatory of Music, located in the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center, at 11:00 am), with free admission until full capacity is reached.
This national competition aims to promote and encourage culture and art among young people, with the aim of finding and helping young musical virtuosos to reach higher levels, and is aimed at young performers of piano, string instruments (violin, viola, cello and double bass), wind, harp and guitar, up to 13 years old.
The 10 semi-finalists of the VII Concurso Jóvenes Intérpretes “Ciudad de Estepona” are the following:
– Alicia Arriaza González, cello, Seville, 13 years old.
– Jesús Berrio Hernández, clarinet, Granada, 12 years old.
– Gael Bravo Requena, violoncello, Almería, 12 years old
– Gael Chamorro Iglesias, piano, Valencia, 12 years old
– Leonard Erokhin Gómez, violoncello, Valladolid, 13 years old
– Sara Ferrer Valero, violin, Castellón, 12 years old
– Sofía Huerta Castrillo, piano, San Sebastián, 13 years old
– Adrián León Ruger, guitar, Sevilla, 13 years old
– Sara Camila Molina Isaaccura, harp, Madrid, 12 years old
– Mateo Pelegrín Tarazona, cello, Valencia, 9 years old.
Among them, the jury will choose the five finalists, who will perform on Sunday, May 25, at 11.00 am, at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
During the final gala will perform the young violinists Pablo Beltrán Sánchez and Martina Moliner Alcaine, winners of the VI edition of the contest.
The jury will be composed of important figures of the musical field with national and international relevance. As president, Fernando Arias, cello, professor at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. As members, Juan Mendoza, oboe, artistic director of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía; Eduardo Frías, piano, artistic director and manager of the ‘Fundación Scherzo’; Esteban Morales, percussion, manager of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga; Ana Valderrama, violin, professor at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid; and Luís del Valle, piano, professor at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.
The following prizes will be awarded:
– 1st Prize: 1,000 €; 2nd Prize: 700 €; 3rd Prize: 500 €; and two Finalists’ Diplomas: each of 200 €.
Special prizes for the winner of the First Prize:
– Special Prize “GEWA”. GEWA Strings will award a case to the winner of the Competition.
– Special Prize “Fundación Scherzo”. A recital at the Hinves Pianos facilities in Madrid.
– Special Prize “Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga”. A performance as soloist with the O.F.M. in the 2026-2027 season.
– Special Prize “Sociedad Filarmónica de Málaga”. Participation in a recital organized by the S.F.M. during the 2025-2026 season.
Special Awards:
– Special Prize “Summer Camp” of the Exmo. Ayuntamiento de Estepona and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, for one of the finalists. Participation in the ‘Summer Camp’ course organized by the School for two weeks in July 2026.
– Special Audience Award: 300 €.
– Colegio San José Special Prize to the youngest contestant.
Other special prizes:
– Special Prize “Iberian Sinfonietta”.
– Special Prize “Camerata Complutense”.
– Special Prize “Barcelona International Young Artists Competition”.
