The Estepona City Council has presented the program for the 2026 Fair and Annual Festivities, which will begin on Tuesday, July 7, with the opening address delivered by Antonio Jiménez, a journalist from Jaén with a long career in political reporting and former director of the Trece TV program “El Cascabel” on Trece TV, followed by a performance by Estepona-born flamenco singer Rocío Bazán.

The event will take place on the extension of Juan Carlos I Avenue, in the plaza by the fountain at the Athletics Stadium, starting at 9:00 p.m. The inauguration and lighting of the fairgrounds, presided over by local officials and accompanied by the Estepona Municipal Band, will take place at 10:30 p.m. and will include the traditional fireworks display.

Macarena Diánez, the councilwoman in charge of the Festivals Department, has outlined the program, which includes performances and activities for people of all ages. The parade of giants and big-heads, accompanied by the Charanga 404 brass band, will announce the start of the fair on Tuesday, July 7, at 8:00 p.m., prior to the opening address, setting off from the Víctor de Serna School.

To close out the first day of the fair, the program features a performance by the Ballroom, Cabaret, and Belly Dance Group of the municipal Culture Department, directed by Mariví Rodríguez, and a performance by flamenco dancer Claudia Ramírez “La Marivilla,” director of the “Dynasty” Academy. It will take place at 11:30 p.m. at the Municipal Pavilion.

As for the performance schedule, the Municipal Pavilion will host free concerts throughout the festival featuring artists of various musical styles, such as the cover band “Número Uno,” with Diego Martín – “La Playlist de tu vida” (Wednesday, July 8), Joana Jiménez (Thursday, July 9), Los Yakis (Friday, July 10), and Paco Candela (Saturday, July 11).

People who are extremely sensitive to loud noises can pick up ear protection during the fair at the Civil Protection Tent, located at the entrance to the fairgrounds. This will help them reduce the effects of noise exposure during the fair.

Wednesday at the fair will be dedicated to the little ones, who can enjoy a children’s party at 7:00 p.m., featuring entertainment and a magic show, at the Municipal Tent. In addition, the rides will be offered at a special price that day.

On Thursday, July 9, the Senior Citizens’ Afternoon Tea will take place at the Municipal Pavilion, in collaboration with the Los Remedios Bakery, featuring entertainment by the Mónica Peña Academy and a performance by Nuria Fergó starting at 8:00 p.m.

Free Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides

As in previous years, from Thursday through Saturday, visitors can enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride every afternoon, with a stop at the Municipal Pavilion.

In addition, from Friday through Sunday, between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., the Horse Walk at the Fairgrounds will be open to all horse riders, who are encouraged to dress in traditional Andalusian attire and have their horses decked out.

Equestrian enthusiasts have a date on Sunday, July 12, for the 9th Andalusian Horse Tack Competition. It will take place on the Paseo de Caballos at the fairgrounds, and prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed horses and riders in each category: Rider, Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Pair, and Female Rider. The event is organized in collaboration with the Estepona Horse Lovers Association.

And finally, on Sunday, the bullring will host the traditional fair bullfight, which this year will once again feature an exceptional lineup. Six bulls from the prestigious Luis Algarra Polera ranch will be fought by the top figures in bullfighting: Talavante, Juan Ortega, and Roca Rey.

Samuel Vélez, the “Orquesta Roma,” the Baraka & Ana Soto Group, Kiko Peña, Juan José Alcántara, and Acontratiempo will also provide entertainment at the Municipal Tent throughout the fair.

City Hall workers have been busy for days preparing the Fairgrounds and installing the illuminated arch that will welcome visitors. Work will continue with the setup of the rides and the final preparations for the Municipal Pavilion, where the free concerts will take place.
