The City Council and Hospiten are launching a program open to the public to promote health, prevention, and well-being

“Espacio Salud: Open House” will dedicate its first session to a comprehensive approach to pain management. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Casa de las Tejerinas.

Julia Simón, the councilwoman in charge of health, and Gerardo Bravo, the managing director of Hospiten Estepona, are presenting the first session of the “Espacio Salud: Open Sessions” program. This new health awareness initiative, as explained by the municipal official, is aimed at promoting health, prevention, and the well-being of residents.

This initiative, designed to be an ongoing program, will take place quarterly and will involve other institutions in the healthcare sector, such as Hospital Costa del Sol, Sevitas, and others. The councilwoman also explained that this project was created with the goal of providing residents with accurate and useful information from leading healthcare professionals, thereby strengthening collaboration between local government and the healthcare sector.

Regarding the first session, which will be held on Tuesday, June 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Casa de las Tejerinas, a representative from Hospiten Estepona explained that the session will offer a multidisciplinary perspective on pain management, with a special focus on the role of the Pain Unit in the assessment and personalized treatment of patients. The session will also cover advances in surgical procedures for spinal pain and minimally invasive techniques aimed at improving the quality of life for people living with chronic pain.

This event will feature Hospiten Medical Director José Carlos Salas and Alicia Jiménez from the Pain Unit, who will present the lecture “An Integrative Approach to Chronic Pain.” Also participating will be Eduardo Sosa, a traumatologist and orthopedic surgeon from the Spine Unit, who will present the talk “Treatment of Spinal Pain”; and neurosurgeon Carlos Santos, who will close the program with his presentation on “Surgical Treatment of Spinal Pain.”

Finally, both Julia Simón and Gerardo Bravo have highlighted this joint effort between the City Council and Hospiten, which reinforces both organizations’ commitment to community health and the dissemination of quality healthcare knowledge, through a participatory format open to the public.
