The Exhibition and Convention Center is enhancing its image with a new illuminated sign on its roof

The work, which is already underway, will feature a set of illuminated three-dimensional letters and the municipal coat of arms on the building, visible from various points in the surrounding area

The Estepona City Council reports that it is carrying out work to install the new identification sign on the roof of the Exhibition and Convention Center, a project that will enhance the image of this municipal facility and make it easier to identify.

To this end, a sign has been fabricated featuring the text “Exhibition and Convention Center” and the official coat of arms of Estepona. The 31 three-dimensional letters, made of AISI 316 stainless steel—a highly resistant material particularly suited for outdoor use due to its corrosion resistance—are currently being installed. The letter faces are made of translucent acrylic and incorporate a high-efficiency LED lighting system.

In addition, the system includes a control unit that will allow for the programming of different lighting effects to adapt the building’s illumination to conferences, events, and special occasions.

The new sign measures approximately 34 meters in length, while the municipal coat of arms will stand two meters tall, making it a distinctive landmark visible from various points in the surrounding area.

The project also includes the installation of a galvanized metal structure, specifically designed to ensure the safety, stability, and durability of the entire structure, as well as all the necessary auxiliary components for its assembly.

The cost of this project amounts to 41,244 euros.

With this project, the City Council continues to improve municipal facilities and the image of the Exhibition and Convention Center, one of the city’s premier venues for hosting conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and major cultural and social events.

As part of this process to improve the facilities at the Exhibition and Convention Center, the City Council has carried out various conservation and maintenance projects on the building in recent months. Among these, the exterior of the canvas roof was cleaned using a pressure washer, and the joints between the exhaust pipes and the roof were cleaned and sealed to improve the structure’s watertightness.

In addition, work was carried out on approximately 250 meters of the exterior walls at the junction with the canvas canopy. This work involved cleaning the surfaces, sealing approximately 50 meters of the exterior, and waterproofing them, thereby improving the structure’s protection against potential leaks and helping to preserve the roof.

In addition to these measures, a comprehensive cleaning of the Palace’s interior roof was carried out using specialized equipment, including a scissor lift and industrial hot-water and steam pressure washers. The work was completed with the application of a coat of paint to the metal rings that secure the canvas roof, helping to improve the condition of this municipal facility.
