La Casa de Las Tejerinas is hosting an exhibition of paintings inspired by Japan by Raquel Fierro

The “Visual Haiku” art exhibition will remain on display through September 16, with free admission

The Estepona City Council announces that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host an exhibition by Raquel Fierro, an artist from León who lives in Marbella, through September 16.

The exhibition features nearly twenty works, and can be visited Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.

Raquel Fierro was born in León but has called Marbella home for more than four decades.

Her relationship with paintbrushes began as a playful pastime in childhood, fueled by the joy of a box of paints. Although life took her down other paths, that creative drive remained dormant until it blossomed into a beautiful, belated passion.

Her primary medium is oil painting, but for this occasion she has also chosen to pay a subtle tribute to watercolor.

Her first trip to Japan sparked a fascination with the country’s aesthetics and culture. This revelation led her to explore the ancient Sumi-e painting technique. “Visual Haiku” is her first solo exhibition. A collection that ranges from evocative still lifes inspired by the Middle East to the serenity of East Asia.

She chooses each subject for its beauty. She seeks to offer the viewer a moment of serenity, introspection, and beauty.
