An exhibition of great faceless personalities inaugurates the II Estepona Literary Festival

The famous illustrator Coco Dávez gathers in ‘Faceless’ a compilation of 17 works in which she captures the essence of celebrities that have marked her life. The mayor, José María García Urbano, has visited the exhibition, which will be inaugurated this afternoon with the presence of the Cordovan couturier Palomo Spain, the gallery owner Topacio Fresh and the singer Soleá Morente.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that the inauguration of the exhibition of the famous artist Coco Dávez opens today the II Estepona FLEST Literary Festival, which will be held until next Sunday at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. The illustrator, of great international recognition, presents a sample of 17 works that under the title ‘Faceless’ collects the essence of her work, perfectly recognizable by the use of color and the disappearance of the faces of great personalities.
The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, has visited the exhibition, which will officially open this afternoon from 20.00 hours, and highlighted the quality of an artist who has transcended borders thanks to its originality. The alderman has stressed that this second edition of FLEST “highlights the progress that Estepona has experienced in the cultural field, which is demonstrated not only with the new facilities that have been created in the city, but with high quality activities such as this literary festival”.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which can be visited at Terraza Street, will be attended by the artist, who will also be accompanied by the Cordovan couturier Palomo Spain, the art gallery owner Topacio Fresh and the singer Soleá Morente. It is a collection of portraits in which the face does not appear, but the figures of the characters are perfectly recognizable. They are names that, according to the artist, have marked her life in some way. Thus, several iconic figures of the 20th century are represented, such as Pablo Picasso, David Bowie or Chiquito de la Calzada, among others.
The exhibition, which includes works made exclusively for this occasion, will be on display outdoors and can be visited until September 15. With this exhibition Estepona joins cities like London or Hong Kong, which have also hosted the ‘Faceless’ project previously.
