ACCC Unicorn Association
After nine editions of the International Horror and Fantasy Film Week of Estepona, at the end of 2009 the Cultural and Film Association of the Costa del Sol ‘Unicorn’ is created, with the aim of obtaining external sponsorships to the City Council. It is from that moment when the Association is exclusively responsible for the organization of the film festival, whose first decision was to change the name, renaming it International Fantastic Film Week of the Costa del Sol, and expand the development of parallel activities to the event to other locations, such as Benahavís, Manilva, Marbella and Malaga.
Besides betting on its maximum cultural exponent, the Fantastic Film Week, the ‘Unicorn’ Association, chaired by Isabel Lopez in the last ten years, collaborates not only in other film events but also begins to organize various cultural events with national and international scope, including literary presentations, exhibitions, audiovisual competitions or concerts. In recent years, the Unicorn Association has developed activities related to the audiovisual world, and others as diverse as the shooting of the short film ‘Memorias de Sangre’ or the recording of the album ‘Canciones para sobrevivir a una catástrofe’ (Songs to survive a catastrophe).
In addition to the 25th edition of the Film Week, to be held from September 7 to 14, 2024, on the occasion of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Association this year will be held various shows, such as a concert on film music, by the García Fajer Foundation, a tribute to The Beatles on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the album ‘What a night that day’, the exhibition ’25 years of fantasy’ or the presentation of the new website of ‘Unicornio’.
