The Estepona City Council reports that the Estepona author Gemma Gomez Rivas presents this Thursday November 28 his second poetic work entitled ‘A patchwork quilt’. The event, with free access, will take place at 18.00 hours in the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de Las Flores.
The author will be accompanied by the Marbella writer Rupert Rodriguez, member of the Estepona Poetry Group and author of the fictional saga ‘The Inheritance of the Astralnautas’.
In a world where literature is often relegated to the background and the voices of writers struggle to be heard, the inspirational figure of Gemma Gómez Rivas emerges, a young writer from Estepona who has found in poetry a way to heal and connect with others. Her first work, ‘Under the rain of fire’, was published earlier this year by the publishing house Talón de Aquiles. With it, the author sought to “enter the world of the mind and emotions”.
Now, with her second collection of poems, ‘Una colcha de retales’, published by Loto Azul, she opens a door between two equal but different entities: mothers and daughters. “We are all one, but we all want to be another and run away from what we know with fear of repeating it, without seeing that, deep down, we are a patchwork quilt, united by the fine thread of blood”.
