Sport: Estepona to build climbing wall with EU funding for over 2 million euros
A covered climbing wall is to be built in the Parque Ferial y Deportivo in Estepona. For the construction, the city of Estepona has put out to tender a corresponding contract with a budget of over 2,1 million euros (including VAT).
The climbing wall is to comply with special standards so that not only amateur athletes but also top athletes can train on it. The special construction method within the prescribed standards is to ensure that national and international competitions can also be held on the climbing wall. Thanks to a lighting system, amateur and top athletes will also be able to train in the dark.
Interested companies can submit their bids until Wednesday, 9 November. Once the contract has been awarded, the work may take a maximum of six months.
The work will be financed with funds from the EU reconstruction fund “NextGenerationEU”.
