Estepona hosts a School Solidarity Walk against Cancer that will bring together students from educational institutions

It will be held on Saturday, May 30, starting at 10.00 am with departure from the Mirador del Carmen and arrival at the Plaza del Reloj. It will be a non-competitive march of 3 kilometers

The councilor attached to the delegation of Citizen Participation, Maria Aguilar; the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer of Estepona, Julia Crespo; and the director of CEIP St. Thomas Aquinas, Paqui Fernandez Torres, today presented a School Solidarity Walk against Cancer.

The municipal representative thanked the AECC Estepona this initiative in which the educational group will participate and that is the opportunity not only to raise funds for this great cause, “but also to educate in values, raise awareness and make children understand what it means to help”.

For her part, Julia Crespo explained that it will be a non-competitive walk of 3 kilometers, simple and accessible, designed for the participation of the whole family. He also commented that the objectives are to promote solidarity and raise awareness about helping others, promote healthy habits, raise funds to be used for free services offered by the AECC of Estepona and bring the work of the association to schools.

The procedure that has been followed, as explained by the director of CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino, is that each registered student has sought solidarity sponsors to collaborate with small financial contributions. In this way, the children are actively involved and understand the value of helping.
