Estepona Vive sus Calles’ will return in autumn with Los Secretos, the ‘Locura Parapa’ show and more than ten cultural activities.

It will take place from October 10 to 12 and, among other activities, will include the celebration of the First Octopus Fair, performances by ‘La Insostenible Big Band’ and the Benavente Theater, a pasodoble contest, a concert by the quartet ‘Con Brío’ and the copla by Roberto Aragón.

The councilor attached to the municipal delegation of Culture and Festivals, Macarena Diánez, today presented a new edition, this time in autumn, of ‘Estepona, Vive sus Calles’, an event that aims to celebrate cultural and leisure activities for all audiences in different parts of the city, for the enjoyment of residents and tourists.

The municipal responsible has detailed the program of activities to be held from 10 to 12 October, including the celebration of the first edition of the Octopus Fair, an initiative promoted by the Consistory, in collaboration with José María Téllez ‘Popi’, in which local establishments will bring together the best sample of fish, molluscs and crustaceans. It will be the three days, from 12.00 to 22.00 hours, in the Calle Real.

On Friday evening, at 19.00 hours, the exhibition ‘The procession goes inside’ of the Sevillian artist Manuel Leon, consisting of 17 totems printed with images of his creative work will be inaugurated on Terraza Street.

As for shows, the event includes the concert of the choir ‘Love to sing’ to benefit the Cudeca Foundation, on Friday at 18:00 pm in the Mirador del Carmen; and the performance of the Malaga swing-jazz band, ‘The Unsustainable Big Band’, at 20:00 pm in the Parque El Calvario. Also, the mayor has highlighted the show ‘PARAPA Madness’, also on Friday 10, from 21:00 pm, in the outdoor area of the Mirador del Carmen. It will be a party led by Carlos Moreno ‘El Pulpo’, adopted son of Estepona, with electronic music, dance, sports, gifts and lots of fun.

For the little ones, on Saturday, from 12.00 to 18.00 hours, there will be a party in the Plaza García Caparrós with giant games, fairground games, inflatable games, sports and classic games, workshops, and much more.

As part of the program ‘Sharing Cultures’, aimed at promoting the integration and participation of foreign residents, from 12:00 noon on the 11th will be held in the outdoor area of the Mirador del Carmen the Latin Culture Day. Until 11:00 p.m., the foreign population will present their customs, traditional festivities and gastronomic culture.

On Saturday afternoon, at 18:00 hours, the students of the School of Dance and Acrobatics Ocean, directed by sisters Laura and Sara Perea, will offer a dance show on Terraza Street; and 20:00 hours, the Benavente Theatre will perform the comedy ‘Vis a Vis in Hawaii’ in the Plaza del Reloj.

And finally, on Saturday at 22:00 hours, in the Plaza del Ajedrez, there will be a concert by the group led by Alvaro Urquijo, ‘Los Secretos’, one of the most influential and beloved bands of the Spanish music scene.

Sunday’s program will begin with a pasodoble contest with live music by the Metropolis Orchestra, from 12.00 am in Plaza Antonia Guerrero, and will continue with the concert of the string quartet ‘Con Brío’ in the Plaza Manilva at 13.00 hours.

The finale of ‘Estepona Vive sus Calles en Otoño’ will be Roberto Aragon, at 19:00 pm, in the Plaza del Reloj, with a concert tribute to the copla, accompanied by the artist also Estepona, Miguel Salas.
