The work on the sixth parking lot, which costs 1 euro during the day, has reached its final stage and work is already underway inside the site.

The structure has been completed in its entirety and, at the same time, the urbanization works of the surrounding streets are being carried out.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that the works to build the sixth public parking at a cost of 1 euro during the day, which will be located in the surroundings of the church of El Carmen, are in their final phase. After overcoming the most complex works, the enclosure has already completed the structure and have already begun work on the interior space.
At the same time, work is being carried out on the urbanization of the surrounding area. Specifically, paving has begun on Padre Fernando and Guadiaro streets, and has already been completed on Manuel Navarro Mollor.
Specifically, the construction work on the parking lot is at 85% completion, after having picked up speed in recent months, once the complex initial phase was overcome. The execution of this project has entailed some difficulty as it is located within the urban area next to adjacent buildings, which has made it necessary to work very cautiously.
Once the works have been completed in their entirety, the City Council will create a square in the area and the current surface parking lots will be maintained, as well as road traffic.
The new El Carmen public parking lot will have more than 300 parking spaces distributed over three subway levels. These new spaces will be added to the more than 2,000 that already exist in the municipality with this parking formula distributed in the parking lots built in the new City Hall, in the Antonia Guerrero square, in the Athletics Stadium and in the Chess Square. Last year, the La Viña parking area was also integrated into this municipal network of low-cost parking lots after the City Council rescued the concession.
The works are being executed by the company Innovaciones Técnicas y Recursos Constructivos S.A. and have an investment of 10,001,331 euros (VAT included). This project is subsidized for an amount of 1.4 million euros by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union-Next Generation EU.
