The High Abilities Association of Estepona will hold an open house on May 9.

The entity, which serves 40 children with high abilities in the city, has been providing its services since 2018 in facilities provided by the Estepona City Council.
The Estepona City Council reports that the Association of High Abilities of Estepona, Marbella and San Pedro Alcantara (ACM) will hold a day of coexistence and open house at its headquarters in Estepona on Saturday May 9.
Families interested in learning about the work developed by this entity with children diagnosed with high abilities may attend that day, from 12.00 pm, at the headquarters located on Calle Santo Tomás de Aquino. The Consistory gives them since 2018 these municipal facilities so that ACM can provide its services in the municipality.
The councilor attached to the area of Education, María Aguilar, has pointed out that ACM Estepona offers a wide program of extracurricular activities and workshops for the cognitive, creative and emotional enrichment of students with high intellectual ability.
In addition, the association also organizes a School for Parents to guide the families and guardians of these children in personal, family, educational and social issues.
During the 2025/2026 school year, the association offers workshops during Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Activities related to fun science, archeology, an art and creativity lab, a robotics lab, and cognitive, creative and emotional enrichment workshops have been organized.
The whole program is aimed at students between the ages of 5 and 18.
Aguilar explained that the objective of ACM is to meet the needs of young people with high intellectual abilities and create conditions of support and recognition at social, educational and family level to achieve their full development as individuals. In this regard, from the association itself they point out that the student with high intellectual abilities requires special educational needs and requires, for a period of schooling or throughout it, certain support and specific educational attention.
The directive of ACM considers that students with high intellectual abilities do not form a homogeneous group, and therefore, we can not speak of common characteristics, so these children require personalized attention.
The president of ACM, Daniel Perez, has indicated that during this course have been benefited by this association a total of 117 families and 140 students throughout the region. The head of the same recalls that throughout all the years of operation of this entity, have been served 510 families and nearly 250 students.
