Former national soccer coach Vicente del Bosque visited his summer camp today, which is celebrating its 13th edition this year. The sports event, which has become a staple of summer leisure activities for young people, is taking place during the last three weeks of July at the “Francisco Muñoz Pérez” municipal stadium and will conclude on Friday, July 31.
Vicente del Bosque, who was accompanied by City Councilwoman Susana Aragón, stated that in addition to offering sports and recreational activities for the vacation period, the Estepona camp aims to instill in participants a commitment to a healthy lifestyle through an environment that combines mental development, sports, and good nutrition.
The former national team coach emphasized that the success of the Vicente del Bosque Football Academy is based on connecting sports with positive values such as friendship, camaraderie, sportsmanship, inclusion, and hard work. All of these values “are present in sports and are fundamental to the development and education of young people.”
In closing, Del Bosque thanked municipal officials for the collaboration and support the City Council has shown in each edition of this camp; he also praised the wide range of sports facilities available in the municipality, as well as their quality.
For her part, Councilwoman Susana Aragón thanked Del Bosque for choosing our city to continue hosting his now-traditional Summer Camp. She also noted that Vicente del Bosque is one of the great names in Spanish sports, which serves as a major source of inspiration for the boys and girls participating in his Summer Camp. In addition to fostering competitiveness and physical activity, the camp cultivates human values such as communication, inclusion, and camaraderie.
