The San Fernando Municipal Soccer Field will host the 2026 “Goalkeepers’ Battle,” aimed at players in youth soccer divisions

The competition, organized by A.C.D. Esteponense in collaboration with the City Council, will take place on Saturday, August 22, starting at 10:00 a.m.

The Estepona City Council announces that registration is now open for the “Goalkeeper Battle,” a sports tournament specifically for goalkeepers, in which participants will compete in one-on-one goalkeeper-versus-goalkeeper matches, putting their technical skills, reflexes, accuracy, agility, and reaction time to the test. The tournament will take place on Saturday, August 22, starting at 10:00 a.m., at the San Fernando Municipal Soccer Field.

The competition is organized by A.C.D. Esteponense, in collaboration with the City Council, and is aimed at players in youth soccer categories (benjamín, alevín, infantil, cadete, and juvenil), promoting sports participation, camaraderie among clubs, and the development of sports values such as respect, teamwork, and fair play. Each age group will compete separately, ensuring a level playing field among participants.

The main objectives of the event are: to promote sports participation among children and youth, to enhance specialized training for goalkeepers, to encourage healthy lifestyles, to foster camaraderie among athletes, families, and clubs, and the development of sports values such as respect, camaraderie, and fair play, and to promote grassroots sports in Estepona.

The format will consist of one-on-one goalkeeper-versus-goalkeeper matches, in which both participants will defend their goal and attempt to score against their opponent by taking shots from the area designated by the organizers, in accordance with the tournament rules.

Admission to the event is free.
