The City Council is putting out a bid for the installation of 138 solar streetlights in seven areas along the coastal corridor

The project has a base budget of 196,123 euros, including VAT, and will improve lighting and energy efficiency at various points along the trail

The Estepona City Council reports that it has put out a call for bids for the purchase and installation of 138 solar streetlights, which will be distributed across seven areas along the municipality’s coastal corridor with the aim of improving lighting conditions and advancing the implementation of more efficient and sustainable systems in public spaces.

Specifically, the new lights will be installed in the areas of Isdabe, Benamara, Guadalmansa, La Gaspara, Avenida México, Bahía Dorada 3, and Bahía Dorada Beach.

The base tender budget amounts to 196,123 euros, including VAT. The project involves the installation of solar streetlights, which generate the energy needed for their operation from solar radiation, reducing dependence on the electrical grid and promoting more sustainable lighting.

This project is part of the municipal strategy to continue modernizing public lighting infrastructure and improving energy efficiency in the municipality’s various public spaces and roadways.

In this regard, the City Council has been carrying out various projects to renovate and modernize Estepona’s street lighting. Recently, it completed the replacement of 350 light fixtures in six city parks with LED technology, a project that has reduced installed power by approximately 65 percent and generated energy savings of more than 95,000 kilowatt-hours per year, representing an estimated annual savings of 27,000 euros for the municipal budget.
