The eastern part of the suburbs will soon have a new green space covering 20,000 square meters

The development, located in the La Boladilla area, will feature two playgrounds, a multipurpose sports court, fitness trails, nearly 300 trees, and expansive naturalized meadows

The Estepona City Council reports that the eastern outskirts of the city will soon have a new green space covering 20,000 square meters. Specifically, the new site is located in the La Boladilla area and will be open for residents to enjoy in a few weeks.

The project, carried out by the developer responsible for the area’s development after obtaining the necessary municipal permits, will provide this outskirt area with a new space for leisure, sports, and outdoor recreation.

The work, now in its final stages, has involved the construction of two playgrounds—featuring inclusive equipment adapted for children with limited mobility—as well as a 1,000-square-meter multipurpose sports court and fitness trails.

The new space also features expansive naturalized meadows, Mediterranean shrubs and groundcover plants, and approximately 300 new leafy and ornamental trees, which will blend in with the existing trees in the surrounding area.

At present, work is focused primarily on completing the lighting and street lighting systems, so the green space will be ready for use soon.

The project also includes pedestrian paths, a remote-controlled automatic irrigation system, and environmental measures to optimize water consumption.

This new facility joins the various green spaces that have been created in recent years on the outskirts of Estepona, expanding the areas dedicated to leisure, physical activity, and the enjoyment of local residents.

Notable among them is a 20,000-square-meter green space in the Bel-Air area, another 10,000-square-meter space near La Resinera and Las Joyas, the 13,000-square-meter green meadow built at the entrance to Cancelada, the 26,000-square-meter park in northern Cancelada, which features a 7-a-side soccer field and a recreational area with fitness trails, and the 5,000-square-meter park next to the Estepona Hospital.
