Cancelada celebrates its traditional pilgrimage in honor of the Patron Saint San Isidro Labrador
It will take place on May 1st and will include the accompaniment of a charanga and the musical performance of ‘Malacai’.
The deputy mayor of Extrarradio, Begoña Ortiz, and the president of the Association of the Faithful of San Isidro Labrador de Cancelada, Miguel Angel Fernandez, today presented the pilgrimage to be held on Wednesday, May 1, in this Estepona neighborhood in honor of the patron saint of Estepona.
This day will begin with the ringing of bells to announce the festival and a parade of the charanga ‘Los Pintores’. At 09.30 a.m. a mass will be celebrated in the church of the Purísimo Corazón de María, in which the choir ‘Son y Sal’ will participate.
This will be followed by the procession of the Patron Saint that will depart in pilgrimage to the Guadalmansa River and will be accompanied by the Sevillian charanga ‘Los Pintores’. In addition, the evening of celebrations will be enlivened by the musical duo ‘Malacai’.
About 20.00 hours will end the events with the popular reception to the Patron Saint Isidro Labrador in the gardens of the parish of the Sacred Heart of Mary.
In addition to the day of the pilgrimage will be held a series of previous events that will begin tomorrow, April 25, with a Triduum in honor of the Patron. Also, on Tuesday, April 30, the José Vázquez Espinosa square and Corazón de María street will be decorated with palms.
