Infrastructure: New stretch of coastline planned along Playa del Cristo
A new stretch of coast in Estepona is being built along Playa del Cristo and the urbanisations of Veramar and Bermeja Beach. Once the work is completed, it will be possible to walk 17 kilometres uninterrupted along the stretch of coast from Guadalmansa to Costa Natura.
The new path, which connects to the pedestrian promenade of the “Doncella Beach” housing development, will be 354 metres long and 3 metres wide. In addition, the works will also include the construction of a 12.30-metre long and 3-metre wide wooden walkway at Doncella Beach, making the beach more accessible. The old stairs will be replaced with new ones and a newly constructed ramp will be built.
The costs for the measures amount to 617,967 euros (including VAT). They are financed by the European Union’s Reconstruction, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Next Generation EU).
