The City Council activates an improvement plan for the Industrial Park that will be executed during three weeks.

The project will be carried out during the month of August and includes the removal of abandoned vehicles, cleaning and traffic signaling.

The Estepona City Council will develop during the month of August an improvement plan in the José Martín Méndez Industrial Estate with the aim of reinforcing security and contributing to the promotion of commercial activity. The Local Police, in coordination with the corresponding municipal operational brigades, will develop the scheduled actions to be executed in phases during the weekends, in order not to interfere with the activity in the enclosure on working days.

The first of the programmed work phases includes the removal by crane of those vehicles that are in an evident state of abandonment, have very noticeable damage or lack the necessary documentation to remain parked on the public highway. This will contribute to freeing up parking spaces and cleaning them.

In a second phase, the municipal operational brigades will proceed to a general street cleaning complemented with the removal of materials and waste that may exist in different areas.

Finally, the adequacy of the traffic signaling, both vertical and horizontal, will be carried out.

In order for these works to be carried out efficiently, the work will be done by zones. Thus, during this coming weekend of August 17 and 18, the work will focus on the streets Archimedes, Marconi, Edison, Graham Bell, Newton and north side of Galileo Street.

On August 24 and 25, work will be carried out on Buigas, Juan de Herrera, Gaudí, Juan de la Cierva, Einstein and Galileo streets, while during the weekend of August 31 and September 1, the brigades will work on Alejo Martín Rodríguez, Farenheit, Gutenberg, Emilio Bellvis, Alonso Cano, Juan de Mena, Franklin, Miguel Servet and Copernico streets.

In addition, the municipal operational brigades will be from August 19 to August 22 performing signage painting work from 21.30 hours to 06.30 hours.

The City Council has sent to the owners of the polygon a letter detailing the work plan, so that they can see first hand the planned actions.

The industrial estate of Estepona is one of the commercial areas with more vehicle movements in the city. For the good commercial development of all the existing companies, it is essential to keep an orderly

it is essential to keep order and respect the established rules as far as traffic is concerned. In this sense, members of the Local Police Corps, as well as technical and administrative staff of the Consistory, are in charge of the arduous task of identifying abandoned vehicles or with a long period of parking. They are responsible for processing the files to locate the owners, informing them of the deadlines established by law and finally removing them to the municipal depot or scrapyard.

This management, in legal terms, can take months, hindering the work of parking and traffic control of the industrial estate.

The Estepona City Council recalls the rules that are in force, including the requirement to have a valid permanent ford at the entrances to businesses to make use of entrances and exits of vehicles or goods, as well as the right that no one can make use of these, having the right to report to the Local Police for improper use for the removal of vehicles, if necessary.

It also emphasizes the prohibition of double or third row parking and depositing vehicles in the street with major damage, as well as respect for the limits set in ford for loading and unloading, and the speed indicated in the area.

To promote awareness of all these rules the City Council will intensify, from September 15, surveillance campaigns, control and action for compliance with them.
