Tourism: Special success for hotel sector
Hotels in Estepona achieved the highest profits in the whole of Spain in August and profitability in the sector increased by 30 per cent compared to the same period last year. This is according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Revenues in the city’s hotels reached 249.25 euros per available room per night. The Spanish average was 101.60 euros per night. This puts Estepona in first place, followed by Marbella (236.39 euros) and San Sebastian (195.77 euros).
The city of Estepona attributes its success, among other things, to its commitment to quality tourism. This not only offers tourists an excellent service, but also creates jobs. For example, the project “Estepona, Garden of the Costa del Sol”, maintains and beautifies the town.
